Many thanks for providing the info, your solution regarding shell extension had worked for me and now I am able to right-click to the context menu smoothly. The same for me on WIN7 with the same module from Intel, this appeared during june ans i was searching for a solution. This seems to be working really nice, but there is one problem: the Restart Explorer option only closes the explorer, and does not start it again.

I can open a folder to test the context menu, but now I have to restart my computer to start working again. Is this normal? Will this also happen next time? Is there a workaround? EDIT: after restarting my computer, it worked. If your Explore restart failed, you can try to create a new task in Task Manager, then type explorer. This is just a workaround method, to troubleshoot your problem, you can check Event Viewer if it identify the problem.

Does It also disables the intel graphic card from my laptop or just it removes Intel options from right click menu. Thank you so much, this helped me a lot and i suggest my other friends too. Thank again for all the work your doing here. I downloaded it and unziped and ran on XP but after reinstalling XP just two days ago for 4 hours, I would really like to have a link to what is safe to stop or not to stop.

I had to many MS dlls to choose from including inf extenuation files that made me shudder if I stopped the wrong file extension and messed up this New install! It does make sense most especially if you are in a rush hour.

Thanks for wonderful share of the day. Best regards…. Thanks Ray, it was awesome… It is really bothering when you have to wait so long just for a menu to load! With your help, I have just solved this problem which I had since a long time : I was thinking it was maybe a corrupted registry, but finally it appears it is not the case….

It was not possible to disable all the non microsoft contextual menu items with the only help of ShellExView however. To achieve this almost entirely, I have used a Glary Utilities Pro utility, the contextual menu manager. My problem seems to be gone for now with all the entries disabled : all I have to do now is to re-enable each item separately to find which is guilty….

Thanks very much Ray! Keep it up. The problem I had was related to XPs built-in zip handling. Every time I right clicked on a folder, XP would happily and behind the scenes! Re moving the zipfile partly solved the problem but it returned when I tried to open the folder and subfolders of the place I move the zip , and disabling XPs zip folder handler completely resolved the problem.

So thats how to do it! This is indeed a good tool. It helps very much in customizing the right click menu. Thanks for the article. Hope you come up with a professional looking theme as you have stated in one of your previous post. Thanks again for another nifty little utility. This as you say is definitely for keeps. Eventually, the right-click menu may work. The last disabled startup program is causing the issue. There are too many programs to suggest how to fix them all. Some programs will have an option to remove their functions from the right-click menu. We list a few below. There are several apps that allow you to make Windows look and feel the way you want. These apps are usually great and can be very helpful. The potential problem comes from these apps interacting with Windows on a deep level.

They could affect Windows Shell items, like the context menu. If you have any apps like these, try uninstalling them. Windows theme or skin apps can also be a problem.
